Flag Cottage

Dogs

As dog-owners we understand that your dog is just as important as any other member of your family, so we know that you appreciate the opportunity to be able to take them away with you. We feel with the size of the cottage a maximum of two dogs is appropriate.

We have a few requests within the cottage and garden:

  • Preferably please keep our canine visitors off the furniture but we provide throws for the sofa/chairs if this is not possible.
  • Dogs are allowed upstairs but please keep them off the beds.
  • Please keep their food and drinking bowls within the kitchen.
  • Please towel your dog(s) down if coming in wet after a walk. If they are dirty, please hose down in the garden.
  • Please tidy up after your dog(s) in the garden.  A poop – scoop and bags are provided under the sink.
  • A few holiday extras are provided for our canine visitors; spare towel, bowls and leads.

In our information books at the cottage, you will find full details of the local vets and pet stores, along with a good list of dog-friendly places to eat and drink locally. Our popular village pub only a stone’s throw from the cottage allows dogs in the bar.

Every year millions of dogs – local and visitors – enjoy the National Park with owner in tow and who can blame them for taking the lead.

There’s such great exploring to be done but it’s no walk in the park – the safety and enjoyment of every dog and its family is important when out and about.
